LADIES AUXILIARY VOTES TO SURRENDER CHARTER

The Post's Ladies Auxiliary has voted affirmatively on a proposal to surrender its charter effective June 30, 2011.  The reasons for this action are that it can no longer function because it does not have enough members who attend meetings regularly, who are willing to participate actively in its work, and who are willing to accept nomination and election to office and serve in the required officer positions.

Pursuant to its Bylaws, written notice of the proposal has been mailed to all Auxiliary members and organizational levels.

LADIES AUXILIARY CONTINUED

Pursuant to the Bylaws, an Auxiliary charter may not be surrendered if at least 10 of its members demand that it be continued.  In response to the notice of proposal to surrender charter, 11 members who had not been attending or participating regularly requested that the Auxiliary be continued.

At its regular meeting on June 3, 2011, the Auxiliary elected and installed the following officers for 2011-2012:

President, LINDA CROWTON
Sr. Vice President, MARCIA MILLER
Jr. Vice President, KATHLEEN LINDSEN
Treasurer, TERESA CROWTON-JOLLY
Conductress, LOIS DE LOS RIOS
Guard, CHERYL COSTA
1st Year Trustee, INEZ JACKSON
(SUE GAGLIARDO was elected and installed as Chaplain at a later meeting.)

The Post hopes that this renewed interest in the work of the Auxiliary will continue, and extends its best wishes to the Auxiliary and its new officers.
